Hi I'm Scott Cook

I am married with a 3 (almost 4) year old son. We are both active members,We love to meet new people, and we are moving to Italy!

About Me

I married my bride, on 08/08/2008. We were married in the Nauvoo Temple. We adopted our son at birth in McHenry Illinois. We were sealed in the Logan Temple in 2009. In the last 7 years we have lived in Illinois, South Dakota, and Arizona. So far our favorite location that we lived was in Vermillion South Dakota. Our latest adventure, consists of moving to Rome Italy in 2016. We have already begun the process and are very excited. We really have no idea what we are doing, but so far things seem to be working out quite well.

Why I am a Mormon

See The New Testament in the Epistle of James Chapter 1:5-6. The bottom line is that truth only can come from God, not man's interpretations of words of God. Only you can find the truth through study and an appeal to God.

How I live my faith

I live my faith quietly, and passionately. I don't believe in preaching to everyone I meet. But I do believe in trying to love everyone I meet, and avoid passing unrighteous judgement. We try to help whenever or however we can. We are both teachers in our ward, and love it. I teach the youth in Sunday school and I love everyone in my class.

Why don’t women hold the priesthood in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? How do Mormon women lead in the Church?

Scott Cook
The women in the church receive all of the blessings and benefits of the priesthood through their husbands and fathers. Women already have a natural understanding of empathy, love, and service. Women also have the power to create and nurture life. Men need the responsibility of the Priesthood in order to better understand and obtain these virtues (Hebrews 5:4-6). The Priesthood in the church is not a symbol of status or power, it is a great responsibility,(Mark 6: 11-13). Show more Show less

Why do you have 12 Apostles? They were just meant to be around for the time of Jesus Christ, not to be replaced with new apostles.

Scott Cook
As you study the Bible, you will began to realize that the true church of Jesus Christ is only led by Jesus Christ, through his servants the Prophets (Amos 3:7). His church will carry His name, and will be led by him through those he has chosen, not by those who are educated by man (1 Corinthians 1:26-31) Without an intermediary how is the world to know the will of God for his people? But in the end the answers we seek and work for must be sustained and verified by God. (James 1:5). My knowledge of the truth can not be given or quantified by man, but only given and expounded by God. Show more Show less
