Hi I'm Alixandra

I live in Las Vegas, Nevada. I love fashion, ballet, and photography. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been in ballet since I was 2 years old and I LOVE to dance! Tutus, glitter, makeup, and hard work have always been some of my favorite things in life. I also love fashion! You say out dated? I say retro. You say ugly? I say potential. In high school I took medical classes and became eligible to become a Certified Nursing Assistant. I love to helping others and serving those who can't do things themselves.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a Mormon, but when I was younger my parents and I hardly went to church until my brother was born. When we went back I could, even at a young age, tell the difference church made in our lives- we were happier. When I grew up into my teenage years I started getting rebellious and was being... well a typical ignorant teenager. One day when I was half asleep I heard a church leader say if you want to know if this church is true or if Heavenly Father actually hears your prayers- put him to the test and ASK HIM. So one night I was like thought to myself "Fine what's it going to hurt?" So knelt on my bed not expecting much, but as I said my prayer I had the most overwhelming feeling of love and happiness and warmth- I knew at that moment as a 15 year old girl that Heavenly Father knew me and hears my prayers. From that moment on I did all that I could to not disappoint my Father in Heaven and to live the way He wants me to live. I know that, with all my heart, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true! I know that Heavenly Father hears and answers prayers. I know that Jesus Christ is my savior and redeemer- He atoned for my sins. I know that while He was on the earth Jesus Christ established His church. I know that Joseph Smith, as a 14 year old boy, saw our Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ in a grove of trees; and I know that he was called as a prophet to restore Jesus Christ's church on the earth as the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I know we have a prophet on the earth today to lead and guide us in these crazy times.

How I live my faith

I used to teach classes of 9-10 and then 4-5 year old kids at church and I love them so much! Its great seeing such young children get so excited to talk about Heavenly Father and Jesus. I may have the title as their teacher but i have so much to learn from them! I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- Day Saints all my life. I didn't always appreciate what a blessing it is to have this gospel in my life, but when I came to recognize it I came to love it. One way I have chosen to live my faith is by serving a mission. I was called to serve in the Russia, Samara Mission. I will be serving the Lord for 18 months and I could not be more honored to do so!

What is being a Mormon like?

Mormon is the new "Hipster." It's not "main stream" to be a Mormon which means that not very many people understand why we do what we do things or the way we are. Being a Mormon is not being perfectly happy all the time or not having any hard times: It's knowing where and who we can go to find peace and comfort in the trials. Knowing what God's plan for me makes the darker days in life a lot brighter and having a family that I can be with forever is central to the way I can have happiness throughout my life.
