Hi I'm Ben

I'm an Eagle Scout. I'm a Missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a town with population 250. I like science fiction, I've always been the tallest person in my class, and I'm currently serving a 2-year LDS Mission in the USA.

Why I am a Mormon

There is one God and there is one church. No two churches teach the same things, so there only can be one true church. I testify that this is the one. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is Christ's church and teaches his gospel. There is a living prophet on the earth today just as there was in biblical times. Don't just take my word for it though, "James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him."

How I live my faith

I attend church regularly, I substitute teach the youngsters during Sunday school, I sing tenor in the ward choir and in a church barbershop group.

Why don’t Mormons have paid clergy?

Ben
Christ wasn't payed to preach. He didn't charge for miracles. We profess to be followers of Christ, so we follow his example. Acts 8:18-20 "And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money, Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost. But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money." Show more Show less
