Hi I'm Breanna

I'm a collegiate athlete. I went to school and lived in Hawaii for a year. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an 18 year old college student who just got back from my first semester living in Hawaii. I was able to play on the soccer team at my school there and I loved it. I play the piano, work as a river guide and hike mountains in my free time. I'm studying to get my bachelors in Psychology, hopefully my masters in Neuroscience and eventually, with a lot of hard work and prayers, my PhD so I can work as a Neuroscience Researcher and specifically study the effects of depression on the brain. I'm also preparing to serve a mission in the Porto, Portugal mission and couldn't be more excited to spend 18 months in the beautiful country of Portugal.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church with my parent's teaching me from a young age what it means to be a true follower of Jesus Christ. In my house we've had the opportunity to host people from all around the world including Brazil, Germany and England. As I've watched these people come into my lives and seen how they accept or struggle with the gospel I've been blessed to understand just how special this church is and how much it can influence and change someone's life. I was able to see one of my best friend's join the church because of the spirit she felt while she was at my house and I know that through her testimony I was able to strengthen and gain my own. I've struggled with coming to know God's plan not only for me, but for all of his children and understanding why things happen the way that they do, but in this struggle I've come to rely and trust in God and Christ to pull me through and give me the knowledge and enlightenment that I've needed. It's not always been easy to understand the plan and doubts come more often that I would like, but I've always known that I can ask God for help with all my questions and he will answer. He has answered and he continually gives me direction and guidance when I need it most. Most of all I know that no matter what, God loves me. That is such a simple yet profound statement for me, to know that there is always someone who will watch out for you, who will be there for you when you need it and who does everything with your best interest. It's hard to see how God's will helps me out or is in my best interest but I've seen that when I rely and trust in God and obey his will, he truly does bless me and give me more than I could've ever made for myself. I know that this church is true because I've seen the works and felt the spirit and know that nothing that does good could come from anyone but God. God is the head of this church and Christ is the chief cornerstone and I will always rely on them to uplift, comfort, guide and direct me.

How I live my faith

I was the ward organist and on the music committee at my young adult church ward in college.I would play the organ music for the congregation or lead the music. Now that I'm home I go to the temple every week and try to spend as much time with my family as possible. I attend church with other young adults my age and get to learn from their experience and teach them in return.
