Hi I'm Alec Withers

I grew up in Ohio and played basketball in high school. I love family, friends, and God. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've loved basketball since elementary school and have always enjoyed playing sports and games. I love hiking, biking, weight lifting, camping, and being outdoors. I have two wonderful parents, an older brother, and a younger brother. I finished my first year of university and I'm currently serving a mission in London, England.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a family that was active in this church. I was taught by my parents to follow Christ and keep His commandments. Now that I'm older, I know for myself of the truth of this Gospel. Because of the Holy Ghost, I know that God lives. I know we have a Heavenly Father who loves all of his children. I know that Christ suffered and died for us to fulfill the Atonement. And He rose again! Because of this Atonement, we can be forgiven of our sins, improve ourselves, and be "at-one" with God. I have a testimony of the Book of Mormon, and I know that if you read it, truly desiring to know if it's true, God "will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost" (Moroni 10:4). Nothing makes me happier than my faith in God.

How I live my faith

My faith is something that's always been important to me. Because of my relationship with God, I try to keep His commandments and be like Him. I find great joy when I can help and serve others for "when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God" (Mosiah 2:17). I know I'm not perfect, but I am striving to improve with the help of God's grace.
