Hi I'm Lisa

I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am a mother and a wife. I love doing family history work. I spent my whole first year of my conversion buried deep in my past. I was baptized in 2013 and am the only one in my immediate family who's a member.

Why I am a Mormon

I was introduced to the church through an Aunt. I grew up not knowing any religion and my life was all kinds of crazy but as an adult my Aunt reached out to me and started inviting me to church when she would give a talk and even though it was 45 mins away I would go because it would give me time to sit with my grandmother who was a convert to the church. My Aunt knew I was needing something in my life to ground me so she sent the Missionaries to my house and I started taking lessons. I was very unsure at first and tried to back out but she had them insist that I still meet with them and I would go to church every once in a while. Then my grandmother passed away and I was so upset that I decided to pray and I heard her tell me that the church is where I needed to be and that I would find true happiness there. So I began meeting with the Missionaries more and attending my ward instead of my Aunts. I read the Book of Mormon and have prayed to know the truth of it. Finally it was time to commit. I was baptized in December of 2013 and have had a rocky go of it but have never left or let it deture me from my happiness. I know this church is true and feel so blessed to have it in my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by helping others whenever I can. I am involved in church activities whenever possible. I do not have a big circle of friends so sharing the gospel is usually something I do through social media. I just try my hardest to love thy neighbor as God would want us to and be forgiving as he has been of me.

What are Mormon church services like? Are visitors allowed at church meetings? Can I attend church?

Our church services are not like other churches. We do not have one person who stands up and preaches to us. We are all involved with sharing the gospel and are asked to give a talk where we get the chance to study a topic then share with others what we have learned, This takes place during our Sacrament meeting. Everyone is welcome. We love to have visitors because it gives us a chance to share the gospel. Show more Show less
