Hi I'm Kayla

I grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada. I love sports, learning, the outdoors, and to travel. I'm a Mormon

About Me

Currently I am serving a mission in Taipei, Taiwan. Before my mission I did a year of school at BYU Provo. At the moment I am an Exercise Science major. I plan on attending medical school and one day become a surgeon. I do not know what type of surgeon I want to be yet, but I am leaning more toward cardiac or orthopedics. My hobbies include reading, watching movies, and exercising. Some of my interests include sports, sports, and some more sports. I love all different types of sports, but my favorite sports include basketball, baseball, and football in no particular order. I love to spend my Saturdays when I am not at school sitting on the couch with my dad watching whatever sports are in season on TV.

Why I am a Mormon

For as long as I can remember I have been a member of the church. I can see myself as a little eight year old being baptized and having this warm feeling inside of me from the Holy Ghost. I told myself that from that day forward I would never want this warm feeling to leave me. I continue to follow His gospel because I know in my heart and mind it is true. I consider myself a very logical person. I like things to be explained by logic, which is backed up by facts, reasons, and proof. However, when it comes to His gospel I just know it is true because of the warm feelings of the Holy Ghost that tells me it is true.

How I live my faith

During this past year at school I had the opportunity to be a visiting teacher. It was a great opportunity because my visiting teaching companion and I would meet with the girls we visit taught once a month. Even when school was weighing me down I knew I could always look forward to meeting with our girls. My visiting teaching companion and I would share a little message about the gospel and then the four of us would just talk. We would ask them how they have been and remind them if they ever needed anything we were just a phone call or text message away. Being a visiting teacher helped me form new friendships and strengthen existing ones. Now I am living my faith by being a full time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I am going to be serving in the Taiwan Taipei Mission. I love this gospel with all of my heart. You don't want to be selfish with something you love. You want to share it. So that is why I am on my mission. Through faith in Jesus Christ you can accomplish anything.
