Hi I'm Justin Russell

I was born in San Diego, and moved to Utah shortly thereafter. I love being a Mormon for a lot of reasons!

About Me

I LOVE working on cars, trucks, you name it. Working with my hands is just something I enjoy. I love being a Mormon for many reasons, one of the biggest being this: I find a lot of peace and joy(not just temporary happiness) from following Jesus Christ and knowing His plan for me. I am just a regular guy, I enjoy hiking, biking, driving, walking, flying, reading, relaxing, you name it! One of my favorite topics to talk about with anyone is the Atonement of Jesus Christ that He made for us, it has had a monumental impact on and in my life, and I love to share that with others. I also find that life's storms and trials don't sway me as much as they do other people, and I believe it is because of my anchor that I have in Jesus Christ and His Gospel, which brings so much joy into my life, even in hard times, I know that there are better days ahead!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it brings me great joy and peace to know of the truths that have been revealed to us. My favorite is the Atonement of our Savior, Jesus Christ, and how we can change, and that is one of the best parts of this Gospel; to be able to repent, and change to become what God needs me to be. Repentance and forgiveness are things that are offered to everyone! I love to be happy, and love to share what makes me so happy with others. I was raised in the Church, but only in these last couple of years have I really started to appreciate for myself all that it has to offer and all that it can make of me. The teachings of this Gospel help give me comfort in a world that is ever more increasingly full of turmoil and war. I know that through the teachings and ordinances that are a part of this, The Church of Jesus Christ, will allow us to live, not only with our families for eternity, but to again live with our Father in Heaven. I have felt the Spirit bring peace to my soul as I study God's word in His scriptures, and I LOVE that feeling. I love the closeness of any congregation that I am in, and how quickly I(and anyone) am accepted into it as a friend. I am a Mormon because I know that it is the true Church of Jesus Christ, on the earth today, restored in its fullness, preparatory to the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, and I long to meet Him with a smile on my face that glorious day, and be received into His loving arms, and I want the same for others, so I share this Gospel every chance I get.

How I live my faith

I am currently a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, which means that I give up 2 years to go and teach others the things that I know to be true. I teach others about the Book of Mormon which is Another Testament of Jesus Christ, our Savior. I love to see someone come to feel the way I feel and know that God loves them. I love being a missionary and meeting everyone that I can, because I love talking to people and getting to know them personally. I live(and love) my faith by reading my scriptures(the Bible and The Book of Mormon) daily, and recording how I can relate and apply the stories I read. I pray often, for myself as well as for those I meet. I greet everyone I meet with a smile, in hopes that I can brighten their day, and that they can see the love of God through me. I try my best to be my best, and when I fall short, I make amends, repent, commit to change, and go to it! I move forward, for that is the direction God wants us to move!

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

Justin Russell
The Scriptures provide a window to Heaven, of sorts. It is something we can do often to help us grow closer to God. We can learn from the great, and also the terrible, examples in both the Book of Mormon and the Bible. I know this is true, I have done it, I continue to do it. I learn from the scriptures often, and love reading from them because I do indeed learn about God, about Jesus Christ, about His Atonement, and about how I can become more like Them.
