Hi I'm Adrianna Pouwer

Soon to serve a mission in Sao Paulo, Brazil. I love to laugh. I am an avid trier of new things. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Adrianna and I am 19 years old. In March I received my mission call to Sao Paulo Brazil and will be leaving on July 29th of this year. I can't express how excited I am to learn and grow in the gospel of Jesus Christ as I help do the same for the people of Sao Paulo. I am a born and raised Texan and just returned home from my freshman year of school at Brigham Young University in Provo. I am the 2nd oldest of 8 children. I am a swim coach and instructor as well as a swim counselor. I was on the Varsity Swim Team in high school and love the sport. Other parts of my life that make me ME include a love for good music, the violin, running and hiking, leisure reading, journal writing, and a love for new things and new places. I hope to major in something that will allow me to help impoverished families and children around the world. I had the opportunity to go to Ethiopia in March of 2014 to bring supplies and teach children in some of the schools the basics of hygiene and health. I love little kids, good friends, and summer days.

Why I am a Mormon

If you are looking for something that brings true joy you've found it. This gospel - the gospel of Jesus Christ isn't just a church to be attended on Sundays or a place for social gatherings but the purpose of why we are all here. I have been a member all my life but I can say for myself that I know this church is the true church and the church we are meant to be apart of so that we can return to live with God again one day. I have prayed and read the Book of Mormon quite a few times as well as taken part in church and service activities and I know this is where the Lord wants us! Because he wants us to be happy - that is his wish for us, to feel true joy. I received my mission call to Sao Paulo Brazil in March. I will never forget the power of the Spirit that was present when I opened that call. I am so grateful that the Lord is in the details of each one our lives. Christ lives!! He is our Savior and he died that we might live again as he does now. The Book of Mormon is the word of God and this church is His. It is lead by a true prophet and will not be lead astray because it is under the direction of God. Read the Book of Mormon and pray to find out for yourself. This gospel is pure happiness. I am so grateful for the happiness it has brought me. This is real.

How I live my faith

I returned from school at Brigham University just under a month ago where I was one of the Women's presidents in my ward. I had the opportunity to look out for, care for, get to know, love and laugh with 40 of the greatest girls I have ever met and I am so grateful the Lord gave me the opportunity to serve those great women. Soon I will get to serve as a temple worker as preparation for the mission I will be serving in July in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Beyond these things I have served in other areas of our church as counselors or the president or the secretary for different presidencies and capacities. I am grateful for the numerous ways that church provides to help me serve the people around me and hope to continue serving others as I prepare to do just that on my mission.
