Hi I'm Savannah

I grew up in Boise, Idaho. I am the 3rd oldest in a bi-racial family with 8 kids. I am an illustration major. And I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I love drawing and painting. In high school I recieved the Visual Art Sterling Scholar and was Art Club president for my senior year. I did a semester at college majoring in Illustration, but i moved home recently to prepare to serve a mission. I was called to the Lubbock, Texas Spanish Speaking mission, and I am so excited. I really enjoy spending time with my family. They are my best friends. I'm a manager at a pizza restaurant.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church and into a very active family. I attended church and church activities because that's just what we did. I didn't have my own testimony until I moved out and tried living without the influence of the gospel. I thought I knew what I wanted and how to move forward in life. I wasn't necessarily doing anything wrong, but I wasn't doing anything right. I thought that if I started going to church again and living up to the standards I was raised to have, I was afraid I would lose who I was and that I would be treated different and I would be unhappy. I had an expirience that was a big reality check for me and I had a chance to look at my life. I knew I was not living up to my potential. That's when I decided to serve a mission. I didn't care if that meant people where going to treat me differently or if I had to start staying home instead of going out with my friends at the time. I took a step into the dark and thats when Christ took my hand and led me into light. When I tried to find myself, I lost who I was. I needed to lose myself in Christ to truly find out who I am and find pure happiness. It required a lot of faith. A faith that is continually needing work. I love Jesus Christ so much and I can't even being to explain how much he has done for me. Through him, all guilt and pain can be washed away and replaced with peace. My testimony and happiness is constantly growing.

How I live my faith

I love participating in the activites with the young women in my ward. We do service projects, arts and crafts, learn how to do new things, and more! I am going to be serving an LDS mission in Lubbock, Texas soon and couldn't be more excited.
