Hi I'm Courtney Hilchie

I love to travel. Called to serve in the Brazil, Sao Paulo South mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Being the oldest of four children, growing up wasn't always the easiest. Needless to say, I got through my childhood and teenage years with much laughter and fond memories. I just recently finished up my first year at college and am preparing to serve the Lord in the Brazil Sao Paulo South mission. Upon returning from my mission, I plan to continue my education, majoring in Exercise Science. Growing up, I tried many different activities--and like most children--decided it wasn't my thing after a couple weeks. However, in middle school, my mom introduced me to competitive swimming. I loved it. I swam all the rest of middle school and my whole high school career and continued to watch myself improve. Although I do not swim competitively now, I still love to be around any source of water--ocean, lake, pool, river--and help out with a local team. In addition to swimming, I love to serve and play with children. While attending University, I was able to do both those things every Friday. I volunteered at the pool and simply played with disabled children for an hour. It was certainly the highlight of my week. I love to see the smile on people's faces when I serve them, and the joy it brings me is reward enough.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon simply because I love this true and undying gospel and my Savior Jesus Christ. It brings such happiness and peace in my life and without it, I cannot imagine what my life would be like. I know that it is through Christ and His atonement that I can return to live with Him. I know Christ listens to our prayers and truly cares for each of us. I know that I am a daughter of a King and that He loves me perfectly. I want everyone to feel of His perfect love for them and the happiness this gospel brings to my life each and every day!

How I live my faith

In my ward, I hold a calling known as "the Highlight Specialist." As a result, every week, I am given a name of someone in my ward to spotlight. I am in love with this calling because I have gotten to meet members in my ward that I might have never really talked to before. People have amazing stories to tell and to be able to take the time and listen to those stories was a great perk of this calling. Due to this calling, I have made life-long friends and continue to love meeting others.
