Hi I'm Dakota

I grew up in Utah. I like soccer and fishing. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy running cross country and playing soccer. On weekends I like to go fishing, camping, boating, hiking, rappelling, and pretty much anything outside. I am going to serve an LDS mission in the Macon, Georgia area starting June 24. After my mission I plan on going to college and studying aviation, hopefully becoming a pilot some day.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were members, so I grew up in this church. As I got older, I started to feel like maybe this church wasn't for me. When I was a junior in high school, I decided I probably wasn't going to serve a mission. Still, at the end of the school year a few of my friends were going on a church history tour, so I figured I'd go along just to have fun with them. We went to many places significant to the church such as Adam-ondi-ahman, Far West, Kirtland, Independence, Navoo, and the Sacred Grove where Joseph Smith had his first vision, as well as many other places. The spirit I felt while at these places was so strong that I knew it had to be true. I also learned more about the church than I had known before. After this, I read the Book of Mormon with the intent to know if it was true, and found that it was. Because of this experience, I decided that I did need to serve a mission and let others know they can receive the joy that I had.

How I live my faith

As a youth in my ward, I help teach some of the youth.
