Hi I'm Meredith

I grew up in Utah! My life is wrapped around my 4 kids and my 5th child AKA Bob, my husband. We love to travel. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the Mormon faith. I had the worlds best Dad! He would drop anything to spend time with his kids and I was the youngest of 11 so I got him all to myself later on. He insisted that I take piano lessons. Which I hated! I sore I'd never be grateful for them, like my parents said I would be, but I am. They were right. Parents are so uncool when you're young and then when you grow up, boy do you wake up. My Dad passed away when I was just 20 years old. I miss him every day. I have 4 kids. Well 5 if you count my husband. He likes to act like one of the kids. I'm so devoted to my family. Everything revolves around them.... just like my Dad did for us.

Why I am a Mormon

I love this gospel! I so love that it's centered around Christ. The Book of Mormon is such a powerful book to read. I love to study it each day. More than likely something has happened to you that would lead you to look for or be open to studying another religion. I'd like to share a story from my childhood. When I was little, my cousin and I built this tree house. This thing was pretty cool. Or so we thought. We called my her Dad and mine to the back yard to see it. Their eyes were big and they watched us bounce on the old rotting wood. "It's bouncy! Isn't it great?" They asked us to climb down, and they immediately began to tear it apart. We sobbed and cried! It was devastating to watch them pull our hard work down. I yelled "No Daddy! No!" But he still kept pulling it apart and throwing pieces on the ground in front of us. The next morning my Dad asked me to come outside. He wanted to help me rebuild the tree house. I was still upset, but I helped him anyway. When it was complete, it was amazing! It had different levels/floors and was colorful! I loved it! I still love it! It's still there today, decades later! Sometimes you put your ALL into something and its destroyed. God lets it fall apart or he even climbs up there and pulls it down and you're left crying "Why?". Just like I did as a child. But it's all part of a bigger plan! He's ready to help you build something even greater! This church is built on family! And your our ward is even like your family. This amazing organization called the Church of Jesus Christ of Later day saints, is all about helping you, and it's designed by the Lord Jesus Christ himself. It is charity, it is service, it is worship, it is love! There is a place for you!

How I live my faith

I have the best calling in the whole church! I teach the 3-4 year olds! It's a lot of work to herd them some days, but also a lot of fun. They're so eager to learn. And in a lot of instances this is their very first experience learning about the gospel.... right in my class! Our lessons are sweet and simple. For example: God gave us animals, I can be nice to my friends/family, Being obedient to my parents etc. I am also the assistant camp director for the 12-18 year old young women in our ward. That is also a lot of work, but is such a spiritual experience! I love these young women. I love working with them and hearing their testimonies. They're amazing! They know who they are from personal experiences where they've had to really seek Christ's peace. I have learned a lot from both callings and feel so blessed to be apart of my amazing ward family.

How can faith in Jesus Christ influence us in our marriages and family relationships? in our friendships?

Meredith
If you know that your spouse is actively studying and following Christs teachings, you have a better relationship, simply do to the fact that following Christ's example will teach you about service, love and sacrifice. And as a family, studying his life can help your children begin to understand patience. Christ is the ultimate example. There is no one greater to follow. And following Him, and knowing your family strives to follow him will bring peace into your life. I'd like to also point out that not everyone in your family may study like you want them to, about Christs life. But your study will bring you closer to the Holy Spirit and will help you to know what to say and do when the topic of Christ comes. Show more Show less
