Hi I'm Anna Taylor

I'm a student, performing-arts enthusiast, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

Hi! I am Anna Taylor. I was born in Texas and moved a lot as a kid, but now I live in Virginia. I love music, specifically singing, theatre, reading, watching movies, plays, and lots of disney, and learning about mostly anything and everything. I'm not very athletic, but I'm working on it. I enjoy spending time in nature just thinking, reading, and singing. I'm attending Southern Virginia University pursuing majors in Music and Theatre. I love to sing and act and just to goof off and have a lot of fun with my family and friends. My family means everything to me, I love them and aspire to be like them, they are pretty cool. My family has always been very musical and I just try to keep up with them and follow in their footsteps. I also have a great love for my Savior Jesus Christ and strive to honor Him in all my actions.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church, but my conversion came a little later. I've always had a love and a testimony of the gospel and the church, but I kind of took it for granted. In my early teenage years I made things a lot harder than they had to be; sometimes I let myself believe the lies of the world: that I was alone, that I was ugly, that nobody really loved me, that I wasn't good enough. I knew that Jesus Christ could help me conquer these lies and that I could find truth and peace, so I immersed myself in the scriptures, I studied and prayed. I listened better in church. I served those around me. And I believed that it was true. Through all my efforts I came to the knowledge of my Heavenly Father's love for me and my brother, Jesus Christ's love for me. When I learned of that love and let it penetrate my heart and wash away the lies of the world I became happier and more peaceful. I found out that I was a child of God and that truth made me want to be better and do better, so that's what I've been striving to do and be ever since. This change does not happen all at once, it's a process, it's an adventure! I'm not perfect, but I'm trying to be good and be like Christ. I try to let the love that I feel from Christ, my brother, and God, my Heavenly Father, lead to me to love everyone. As it says in 1 John 4:19 "We love Him, because he first loved us." I know that it's true. I know that I need the love that comes from them, and I need the forgiveness and power to change that comes from Jesus Christ. I'm a Mormon because I love Him and need Him. I love this church and this gospel, I know they are Christ's and that I, and we all, can be His.

How I live my faith

I try to show in my every day actions big or small actions my love and devotion to Jesus Christ and His gospel. I show it where ever I am, at work, school, or just on the street. In all I do I strive to be like Jesus Christ. One way I serve is by singing for charitable causes. I am involved in other performances, I strive to always bring God's Spirit there by performing uplifting things with good messages. I attend church classes to strengthen and increase my knowledge of Jesus Christ, and I go to church on Sunday to learn and to be strengthened by my brothers and sisters as we learn about Jesus Christ and His gospel together. What Jesus Christ asks of us is to just to do our best and follow Him, that's what I do. I'm not perfect, but I'm trying.
