Hi I'm Coleen

I'm a Mormon. I am a wife, mother, grandmother and "addicted" to Family History.

About Me

i am the mother of two adult children and a grandmother to nine. I have been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints my whole life. Our children both live within 30 minutes of our home so we get to see them often. Their families are also active in the Mormon religion. In my spare time I really enjoy doing genealogy and family history work. I have always enjoyed doing genealogy research and am glad I have more time to devote to it now. I also enjoy reading, walking and spending time with my husband and family.

Why I am a Mormon

I have a testimony that when Joseph Smith went into the grove of trees to pray about which church to join, that he received an answer from God the Father and His Son. I believe that he was given The Golden Plates and translated them into The Book of Mormon, Another Testament of Jesus Christ. I know that we have a living Prophet on this earth today, to guide us on our path to eternal life if we but follow the commandments. I know that if we live righteously we will be able to return to live with Him when we pass on.

How I live my faith

I have had many callings in the Church. I have worked with the children's groups and youth groups, as well as the women's organization. I worked with the young women as a camp director one summer. I attend our church meetings regularly and have a strong faith that Jesus Christ is our Saviour and he knows me by name. I know that I can pray and he listens. If I have a problem in my life I know I can go to Him and talk it out. My husband and I are getting ready to serve a full-time mission at the Family History Center in Nauvoo, Illinois.
