Hi I'm Carson Burnside

Future LDS missionary. State qualifying cross country runner in the great state of Texas. And, I am a Mormon!

About Me

I am an 18 year old youn man who loves to be outside and doing something! I currently reside in the great state of Texas, but the Lord has called me on a mission to São Paulo Brazil for 2 years. I was a state qulaifier in cross country for the 6a division in Texas, I absolutely love to run and unfortunately have a curse to try and get others to join me on this crazy adventure I call "fun." After the mission I will be attending BYU Provo and will major in Bio-chemistry.

Why I am a Mormon

Simply because I find peace in being a Mormon. Within this church there is so much sacrifice, if something needs to be done, teens, adults and sometimes children will make time to come and help. The church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is a church that has the love of Christ at its center. We are willing to give so much for the welfare of others, just as Jesus Christ would if he were still on the earth today. This Church also provides knowledge and comfort to help anyone through this trial we call life. If one lives worthily and faithfully, peace and comfort are gifts that are promised to those faithful people. This is why I am Mormon, because I love our God, Christ, and all of man.

How I live my faith

Being LDS outside of Utah is tough, in all honesty. Everyone knows who the "Mormons" are and they love nothing more than to see those kids fall. Being a Latter Day Saint in a predominantly catholic and non-denomination Christian society has made me different from everyone else in my community, school, and workplace. I live my faith by example. I do my best to always do as the savior would, love and care for everyone you come in contact with and provide a model for how others should acting live. I know I'm not perfect, no one will ever be, but it is my goal that maybe through the little spurts of testimony I share on a daily basis, and the model I provide for people, that they can recognize that being LDS isn't a Sunday and Wednesday personality, but a life long commitment to strengthen, not only your faith, but the faith of everyone around you. I know the way I show my faith has had impacts on teens and adults alike, sometimes the little acts of love are the some of the most powerful tools someone can have.
