Hi I'm Gabbi

I'm from Sydney Australia. I've been called to serve as a missionary to the Japan Fukuoka mission! And I can't wait. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a University student studying Economics, while working in a cafe and as a swim teacher to save for my mission. I come from a very musical, very crazy family with a Filipino background on one side, and an English / Scottish background on the other. I love to listen to and play music of most kinds and I especially love everything about musical theatre! My bichoodle puppy, Ollie, is my favourite living thing in the whole world haha. I love to travel and have been blessed enough to visit countries near and far, including my family's recent visit to the United States. We road tripped from New York to Los Angeles, following the Church History tour and attending General Conference in Salt Lake! It was everything I could have wanted to experience, and more. My next adventure will be my mission to Japan! My dad, two siblings and I were raised in the church, and my mum was introduced and became a convert to the church about 25 years ago, at the age of 22. My dad is currently serving as Bishop in our ward while my mum studies teaching and plays full-time wife to Dad, and Mum to me and my siblings. My big sister just returned home from her mission to the Philippines, and my little brother has just finished starring as 'Fagin' in his school production of 'Oliver!'. I love making new friends and learning from people around me. I love my life and am grateful every day for the real happiness I enjoy through the gospel!

Why I am a Mormon

I have recognised countless blessings in my life that have come through being raised in the gospel, most importantly the deep peace and joy I feel with how I live every day in striving to become better. I have had so many, so real experiences of feeling the Spirit testify to me that living the gospel is how our Father in Heaven, our God, wants me to live. I feel it each time I read the Book of Mormon, I feel it each time I kneel to pray and I feel it when I attend church and humbly seek to become more like our Saviour. Perhaps most personal for me, I also feel it through music, I feel it through the testimonies of those around me and I feel it each time I enter the doors of His holy temples. Especially with the conversion of my boyfriend almost a year ago, I have come to recognise so closely that the hand of the Lord really is entwined in the lives of all of His children, especially those who are earnestly searching for the truth. This has been a huge motivation for me to serve the Lord, and I cannot wait to be a tool in His work and a part of His daily miracles that are changing the world.

How I live my faith

I love participating in my church and outside community by fulfilling the roles I have been assigned. Currently I play the piano for the primary children in their music time, and do all I can to help them learn songs about our Saviour and His gospel. I also love my calling of being a ward missionary. I love working with the Young Single Adults in my ward and stake in reaching out to those around us within and outside of the church who are struggling, or those in need of a friend. During my youth, I also felt my testimony strengthen in being able to participate in youth activities and programs such as seminary, and the Personal Progress program through Young Women's.
