Hi I'm Debbie

I am serving with my husband in the Adriatic North Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

About Me

I am a mother of a combined family of 9 children. I am a grandma of 34+ grandchildren. They are the icing on the cake and hold us together as a family. We love doing Grandma day and celebrating Happy, Happy, Grandchild day! I am a retired elementary teacher and assistant principal of a school that believes that we are all children of God and that we should learn how to be self-disciplined and have Christian character. I love having prayer in school and being able to read from the scriptures with the children. I love to take walks and travel so I can enjoy God's creations and meet many of our Heavenly Father's children.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born of goodly parents into a family who believed in Christ and the importance of living the principles of the Gospel. I grew up going to church and school with friends with the same beliefs. I attended seminary where I learned more about the scriptures and the plan God had for me. I was taught as a youth the importance of who I was and to choose the path I wanted to follow. Some of my friends chose different paths than I. I felt guided by a still small voice as I made choices. I am glad I listened and followed the promptings that were given. There was a time in my life that I prayed for help from the Lord to get me out of a bad situation. I wondered for many years if the Lord heard my prayers. I went to the temple often seeking His guidance and answers. Then one day tender mercies fell from Heaven. An audible voice spoke to me and I felt as if I was in his arms. For many years our Savior was carrying me through these rough times. He gave me strength to carry on and meet the challenges that were given by others. He has blessed me in so many ways. I am truly indebted to Him for not giving up on me, helping me to be strong, to know what to do and how to stay on the path back to Him. My testimony grew through the rough times and my faith in Him became stronger. I know our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love me. I know that Jesus Christ atoned for all of our sins, aches, pains, sorrows, and anxieties. I know that He was resurrected and that through this unselfish act, I can be resurrected and live with my Heavenly Father and brother, Jesus Christ, again. I also believe that all of us, because we are His children created in Heaven, can become like God. We are created in His image and have innate qualities and the ability to become as He is. I was sealed to my husband for time and all eternity in the temple. I know that if I, my husband, children, and grandchildren keep the commandments and live the gospel, we can be a family for ever!

How I live my faith

I am a retired elementary teacher and assistant principal of a school that believes that we are all children of God and that we should learn how to be self-disciplined and have Christian character. I loved teaching them who they are and of the wonderful plan God has for them. I also taught them the importance of choosing the right and keeping the commandments. We also learned about the Characteristics of Jesus Christ and how we should be a light unto the world. I am currently serving a mission in the Adriatic North Mission with my husband as a companion. We left our family for two years to serve the people of this region. We are serving as welfare humanitarian service missionaries. I have the faith that the Lord will bless us as we serve the people in this part of His vineyard. We will be his hands, feet, mouth, ears and heart as we listen to the Holy Spirit that will guide us to their needs.
