Hi I'm Conner

I’m an Eagle Scout, a sports enthusiast, currently a missionary in Madagascar, and I’m a Mormon

About Me

In my younger years my family moved many times, but eventually ended up in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. I am the oldest of ten children! Big families are amazing, but sometimes caotic. My mom homeschooled us and helped me gain a great love for life. I just love learning new things and enjoying life. From an early age I participated in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts and worked hard to become an Eagle Scout. I love working hard and developing new talents. Some activities I love include the piano, swimming, running, hiking, and just having a fun time with family and friends. I also love traveling and learning about new foreign cultures and customs. This parly cam from an opportunity I had to participate in a medical mission trip to Ecuador in giving service to local orphanages and doing other humanitarian work with my family. I have been recently called to serve the Malagasy people in Madagascar as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the feelings, impressions, and confirmations of the Spirit that I have received while studying the scriptures and listening to modern day prophets. I haven't miraculous visions or angels testify to me, but I have felt the Holy Ghost, the Spirit of God, testify to my heart and soul that this church, the scriptures, prophets, and teachings are true and directed by God. It is by the testing of the truths of the gospel, and noticing the feelings that I receive as I live these principles that I have gained a testimony of the Lord Jesus Christ, our Heavenly Father, and the Holy Ghost. Because I took the faith to test the principles of this church and prayed to God to ask if they are true, God testified to my heart through the Holy Ghost that this church is true. This is how I have come to a personal knowledge that God has restored his church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, in this time and has called prophets and apostles to lead and guide us.

How I live my faith

I love the church with all my heart. It is the most important thing in my life. I strive constantly to become a better person by living my faith. In my efforts to become this type of person, I pray and read the scriptures daily. I study the Book of Mormon, Bible, and words of living prophets frequently. I love reading the words of God as they help me to feel His spirit and love in my life. Through this habit of daily scripture study and prayer, I have developed a great relationship with my Heavenly Father. In addition to this I attend church services weekly. This consists of sacrament meeting and additional gospel teachings. As a member of the church I have had the opportunity to receive various responsibilities to serve others. Because of those opportunities I have developed a testimony of the love the Lord has for each one of us. Knowing this, I try my best to serve others whenever I see an opportunity. I also live my faith by staying true to the standards the Lord has set for me. I believe that the Lord has given us commandments that we must follow to receive blessing from him. As I have kept these commandments I have found that they are the only way we can find true joy and happiness in this life.

Who are the Mormons?

The term "Mormon" encompasses every member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This nickname comes from our belief in the Book of Mormon. We believe and follow the teachings of Jesus Christ to his people. We believe Jesus Christ's teachings include the Book of Mormon, the Holy Bible, and revelations to modern-day prophets.
