Hi I'm Laura Nance

I grew up in Centerville, Utah. I love to dance and ski and make people laugh. I love my family and friends. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi, I'm 18 right now (2015) and I am about to start my second year of college. I am a happy person. I grew up dancing and that's how I feel free. Letting music be felt within me by using my body as my only instrument is a beautiful feeling. I have 4 brothers and 0 sisters and a mom and dad. Being the only girl, I am kinda a "tom-boy" at heart. Although I love to do my hair and makeup at the start of the day, I am always up for getting dirty. I love to be up in the mountains where I can see this amazing world we've all been given. Maybe that's why I like skiing and hiking so much. I also love to sing. I know I'm not very good at it but I think it makes me a happier person when I sing. I absolutely LOVE my dog. It's weird how much I love her. She always sleeps on my bed at night and she is always there to comfort me and the best listener. When I am going through a hard time, it's like she knows and she will look at me as if to say, "Laura? Are you okay?". She's so cute. I also couldn't through anything hard without my mom. She is everything. My friends also love me a ton and will do anything for me. Anyways, that's me and a little about my life and what I value. :)

Why I am a Mormon

My family has always raised me up in the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and I used to just believe that this church is true because they told me it was true. But then one day, I was listening to general conference when I was younger and I noticed that an apostle was getting so choked up when he was bearing his testimony about the truthfulness of the gospel and I knew there was something very special about this church. I started to bare my testimony more in church and at youth camps and I felt a fire inside of me and a love so great that I would tear up and I knew I was feeling the same thing that that apostle was feeling. It was the greatest feeling I've ever felt and I knew it was the Holy Ghost confirming my testimony that this church is true. I want to be a part of this church forever.

How I live my faith

I love this Church. I felt the spirit way too many times to ever doubt it. I always pray that I can be a good example to the people I am around. I try hard to not use curse words to show my respect for the Lord and I know my friends and family respect me for that. I try to dress without revealing although immodesty is a huge trend and sometimes I want to wear the cute crop tops or short shorts. But I feel better about myself when I dress modestly and I know God loves me and is pleased with me when I do. I still make many mistakes. I need to have more patience and I could always treat people better. But I do my best and mostly try to raise myself to a higher level so I can be someone that people look up to and a good example to follow. I try to understand what people are going through and be a friend to everyone.
