Hi I'm Darren Rowe

I'm from Utah and I am currently serving a mission to Fukuoka Japan.

About Me

I enjoy playing sports and being outdoors. Some of my favorite activities include football, basketball, hiking and camping. I also enjoy watching sports. I love BYU football and basketball and I like watching a lot of other sporting events. I am serving a mission in Japan until July of 2017. Serving a mission is awesome. It brings me so much happiness to serve others. I've never experienced anything as good as serving a mission, and it has already made my testimony so much stronger. After returning from my mission, I am going to BYU to pursue a degree in engineering. This will also be a great experience in my life and will help me to grow a lot.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that living this gospel blesses our lives, and the blessings come because of our Heavenly Father who loves us. He gives us these blessings as we live in the way that he has asked. Through the Atonement of Jesus Christ we will all live again and can live in the presence of our Heavenly Father if we keep the commandments. I have seen the negative effects of not living the gospel. Those who do not live the gospel often seem less happy and have more difficult lives than those who do. It is much harder to try to navigate through this life without the help that the gospel provides. By obeying the instructions we receive through the scriptures, the Holy Ghost, prayer, prophets and apostles, I know that we can have happier and more fulfilling lives.

How I live my faith

I take this gospel very seriously. Our Heavenly Father has asked us to be completely obedient to all of the commandments that he has given us, not to casually follow a few of his most basic commandments. This doesn't mean I am even close to being perfectly obedient. I make mistakes every day and I am always needing to repent and improve. The great thing is that through the Atonement of Christ, he will forgive us of our imperfections as long as we repent of our mistakes and try our best to live the commandments we are given. I enjoy serving others through the Church as well as through other organizations. I have served in leadership callings in our Church, and these responsibilities provide great opportunities to help all people. We take the sacrament to people who are at the hospital and can't come to Church. We go home teaching once a month to help families with anything they need. We also help with things that aren't as church related, like helping others with yard work, putting flags around town on patriotic holidays, and many other acts of service to bless the lives of others.
