Hi I'm Dan

I grew up in Wisconsin. I am an engineer for Intel and live in Beaverton, Oregon. I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of LDS.

About Me

I am married to an incredible wife and have two awesome daughters, ages 7 and 5, and a new baby son on the way at the end of August. I have a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois and am an Engineer at Intel. I also have musical and theatrical interests; I enjoy singing and being in plays.

Why I am a Mormon

There are many good Christian faiths out there, including the one I was raised in. I respect devoted members of other faiths and feel a common bond with anyone who actively works on their relationship with our Savior. I feel particularly at home in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because of the comprehensive understanding it provides for our spirituality and purpose, and the way it helps me focus on those things and my relationship with God. The church is filled with sincere, loving members, none of whom are perfect, but many of whom are devoted to our Heavenly Father and show that in their words and actions. It is a place where I can learn from others and their examples.

How I live my faith

My fundamental connection to God is through prayer, especially personal prayer. I also enjoy reading scriptures. I am not good at memorizing verses, but the messages stick in my heart. In my church calling, I watch over other men in the ward that are young to middle-aged, ensuring that they and their families are cared for and they are given plenty of opportunities to serve others and act as physical agents of Christ's love. On Sundays, I also lead discussions about our faith and beliefs with this same group of men.
