Hi I'm Madalyn Alger

I'm from Arizona, living in Oklahoma, and will soon be serving in Michigan for 18 months, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm not good about talking (or in this case writing) about myself, so bear with me. I have played soccer since I was three years old and to this day, love it to death. I love all sports, but I'm also an artsy nerd. *Jack of all trades, master of none.* I love to paint, but for some reason I can only paint shoes. :) I love photography and know there is so much beauty in the world and I can't wait to capture it, bit by bit. I also love science and hope to become a forensic scientist (CSI style). ;) I am

Why I am a Mormon

"What can you do when the church is true?" This is a quote from a friend of mine who left the church, but has now been sealed to his wife and daughter in the temple and is loving being an active member of the church again. I love it! I have always been Mormon, but not just because I was born into is and it's what all of my family does (They aren't all Mormon). I'm a Mormon because I know that this is the true church of Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father. I have no doubt that the teachings in the Book of Mormon, past and future, are true. And even if they aren't, living a moral life centered on love, family, and service, is an amazing life... but they are. ;)

How I live my faith

I didn't have a calling before my mission, but I would stay close with the young women. I felt this helped as I was the only one of my age and our ward was so small. The girls needed someone still young, but older than them to look up to. I'm not saying I was an amazing role model, but I did my best to be someone they can look up to and give them a good reason to be excited to grow up.

What is being a Mormon like?

Madalyn Alger
AMAZING. There are so many things that I don't have to worry about. I feel safer and can always feel love from my Heavenly Father. I feel, compared to my non-member friends, that I have a brighter happier outlook on life. The things we are taught as Mormons are to love everyone, even thy enemy, service, family is essential, and that we can all the happiness we could ever imagine through Christ. Show more Show less
