Hi I'm Paul

I am a Senior Missionary. I am a father. I am a grandfather. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am retiring late this summer and preparing to serve with my wife as missionaries in the Johannesburg South Africa Mission. We are the parents of eight children and twenty three grand children. We have looked forward to serving as missionaries all our married life. I have worked as a mechanic or maintenance worker for the past forty years. I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ all my life. It has blessed my life and my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am thankful for ancestors who embraced the gospel of Jesus Christ many years ago. Some left England and traveled across the ocean and by handcart to join the saints in Utah. Some left Germany seeking a better life and joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the eastern United States and then moved to Utah to be near the center of the church. I think of them often with a heart full of gratitude that they were willing to sacrifice to join the church and live its teachings. My grandfather was a member of the church but not active. My father returned from serving in WW II and met my mother who was an active member. My father made the choice to investigate the church and decided to join. His decision to become a member of the church opened the door for me to be taught the gospel from my birth. I can't ever remember not believing in Jesus Christ. I was taught at my parents knee to pray. I grew up in a home where my parents lived the gospel of Jesus Christ and taught it to me. I could see from their example and the lives of other relatives that living the gospel brought peace and happiness. As I grew I gained my own testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel. Over the years I have seen how it has blessed my life and the lives of my family. I have felt and partaken of the fruits of the gospel. I know my heavenly father hears and answers prayers. I know we are blessed as we are led by a living prophet of God. I know the scriptures are the word of God and will lead us in paths of happiness. I have been especially blessed to have the Book of Mormon. It is a second witness of Jesus Christ. I know it is the word of God and will bring us closer to him. I look back over my life and know that living the gospel has blessed my life.

How I live my faith

I serve with my wife as volunteer workers in the Rexburg, Idaho Temple. I also serve in our Stake assisting our stake leadership. I have always been active in serving in the church. I have seen the gospel bless others lives and have been blessed by serving them. Living the gospel is a daily activity. It is a way of life. It is a life long process of trying to conform my life to the teachings of Jesus Christ.
