Hi I'm Kaaren

I am a retired accountant, mother of five children and grandmother of eight. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have lived most of my life in small towns in northern Utah. I graduated from college after I was married. I was a stay at home mom for many years. I raised five children who are, along with my husband, the most important part of my life. Strong family ties make this life so meaningful. When my family was almost grown, I returned to the work force. I worked as an accountant for a utility company. Now that I cam retired, I have enjoyed volunteering as a reading tutor at an elementary school. I like to make quilts--most of them have been donated to charity or given to family members. I like to travel, and I dabble a little in genealogy. I enjoy good health and like to go walking every day.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints when I was eight years old. The wonderful ward members helped to learn about the gospel and set good examples for me to follow. My family were less active or non members, and I came to rely upon the ward members to help me. I always believed that the Church was true, but as I grew older I came to know for surety of its truthfulness. I love my Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, who is my Savior. Throughout my life I have felt their guiding influence and direction. I have been blessed in so many ways.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to follow the example of my Savior, Jesus Christ, in the way I treat others. I try to be kind, patient, and helpful to those I come in contact with every day. Daily prayer and scripture study are goals I am always working to improve in my life. Church attendance and proper Sabbath day observance are important to me. Sacrificing my time, talents, and resources to help build up the Church is something I have always tried to do. Respect for all people who are all children of God is also important.
