Hi I'm Elder Francom

Born in California, raised in Utah, called as a missionary to serve in Antananarivo, Madagascar. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've been raised as a member of the LDS church my entire life. My parents are converts and were converted before I was born. I will begin serving as a missionary in July but will attend college when my mission is complete. I love to help people and I love to be doing and to be active as much as I can. Some of my personal goals are to serve admirably as a missionary, and upon my return, receive higher education in medical statistics and pursue my career.

Why I am a Mormon

The reason I am a Mormon has changed over the course of my life. When I was younger, I was a Mormon because that's the way I was raised and it's near impossible to be a non-Mormon in suburban Utah. I always believed that the things that I had been taught were true, but I was never really rock solid. Then, in 2012, my oldest brother was killed while serving as a police officer. This tragedy caused me to contemplate what my purpose on earth is. I couldn't accept the fact that I would never be able to see my brother again. So, my faith started with a realization of God's plan for eternal life. From this seed of faith, knowledge in several areas of the church bloomed and have allowed me to reach the point in my spirituality I am currently at. I don't claim to know all things, but I do know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ live and love me, and if I will do all that they ask, I will be able to return to live with them, and my brother, for eternity.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by my works, because faith without works is dead, being alone. I realize that I am not perfect, that is not what my Heavenly Father expects of me. My goal is to be perfect in trying. If I can do my best to look past my own worries and trials to help another one of my Heavenly Father's children, I know that He will be pleased with me. I live my faith by doing my best to be obedient to God's command, because I know that my mission will demand the best of me, and if I am to teach people of this Gospel, I must adhere to the standards of which I am testifying of.
