Hi I'm Sage Estioko

I grew up in California. I love making imagination come to life through art. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student. I have a wonderful family, consisting of my parents, three sisters, and older brother. I have a great appreciation for the arts, in all its forms, including drawing, sculpting, singing, acting, dancing, poetry, and writing. I sketch pretty much everyday, and i love creating characters with a variety of personalities and behaviors that are unique and relatable. I'm not sure what art career path i'm going to take, but whatever i do, my friends and family will always be there to encourage and support me.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and had the blessing to be taught the principles of the gospel as a youth. Around the age of 12, i had some doubts about what i believed in, and i hadn't read the Book of Mormon from cover to cover. My parents decided to have us read the Book of Mormon as a family, and every night we would read a chapter and then talk about it. One day, me and my family were reading the scriptures, and i remember my parents were talking about our personal testimonies, and how we needed to exercise faith by read the scriptures and pray to ask if they were true. I took their words to heart, and i knelt down near my bedside during the night to pray about it. I had been taught all my life that God answers through prayer, yet i wasn't really expecting anything to happen. But i had to know for myself, and after reading the stories about the people in the Book of Mormon, i wanted an answer from God. I prayed and asked if the Book of Mormon was real, and if Joseph Smith was a true prophet, then quietly waited. What happened next is a moment i will always remember for the rest of my life. I felt this burning in my chest which filled me with warmth, reassurance, and joy. I had never felt this way before about anything. It was as if God had wrapped me in a tender embrace, and i could feel His love for me and my family. It touched me so much, i felt tears stream down my face, and i knew it was all true. I received a powerful confirmation that Joseph Smith was telling the truth, that the LDS church is the true church, and that my family has been blessed because of it. Without it, i wouldn't be where i am today. No matter where i am, what i say, what i do, i know as long as i continue to strengthen my relationship with Christ, and strive to be more like him, everything will be alright. This is my testimony.

How I live my faith

I attend my local Young Single Adult Ward on Sundays and go to church activities during the week, like playing games, doing service projects, and visiting the Sacramento Temple. I also go to institute, where i am a member of an institute council and help create an attractive, comfortable environment for all the institute students. I'm currently preparing to serve a mission for a year and a half, and i can't wait to get out there and share the glad tidings of the restored gospel to other people.
