Hi I'm Spencer

I live in California. I serve my community through Boy Scouts of America and love to hike in the outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy many sports including basketball, golf, volleyball, and ultimate Frisbee. Hiking and being outside lead me to new adventures of fun and appreciation for what God has created. I am an Eagle Scout. I love spending time with my friends, who doesn't. I used to long-board and I enjoy the beach.

Why I am a Mormon

First off, this gospel has never had a negative impact on me or anyone that I know. Just the opposite, I have seen countless lives uplifted by the Holy Ghost as they try to live the gospel. I gained a testimony of the Holy Ghost very young. I was fortunate to do so and it has led me to feel the truthfulness of other touching church experiences. I don't have any addictions or ailments due to the Word of Wisdom. People at school ask why I'm happy, or they mention that something is 'different' about me. This is an encouragement to continue living the gospel and trying to touch the lives of friends.

How I live my faith

I like doing service activities. Seeing the elderly and poor become uplifted through small sacrifices of time and energy strengthens my testimony. I try to be an example of our church at school as I keep the commandments and strive to have a positive attitude. I also organize activities for the youth where we play sports, games, and do service.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

No, Mormons are not 'required' to serve a mission. Young men are strongly encouraged to do so for it is seen as a priesthood responsibility. However, the time may not be right for a certain young man leading him to opt out of such a decision. Young women are able to serve a mission as well. Missions should be a matter of prayer and faith with much trust put in the Lord. Show more Show less
