Hi I'm Slater Brown

I was born and raised in Dallas, Texas in a family of six kids. I am about to serve a mission in Romania. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I just completed my freshman year of college at Brigham Young University. I very much enjoyed it. I love sports, especially football. I recently received my mission call to serve in the Romania/Moldova mission. I will serve for 2 years and will speak the Romanian language. I am very excited to share the gospel with the people of these countries because I know that this is the true church and that adherence to its teachings brings happiness and fulfillment in life.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church. Both of my parents were mormons growing up. But that is not why I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I am a ember because I personally believe it, not because my parents believe it. I am about to serve a mission and give 2 years of my life away in the service of others. I would not do this if I did not believe it. I would just be waisting my time. The gospel has brought me happiness and fulfillment and has helped me understand my purpose in life and where I am going after it.

How I live my faith

In college, I was a part of a "young single adult ward." There, I had the opportunity to organize casual get togethers with about 15 other students each week. This was an awesome experience because it gave me leadership experience and a chance to really get to know a group of people and plan activities around their interests. I love living the gospel and being involved because it helps me to get to know a lot of other people and help them come closer to Christ.
