Hi I'm Jared

Husband, father, engineer, soccer-fan, grown up military kid, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

We moved a lot as kids, my dad was in the Army. I was born in California, baptized in Korea, spent my early teenage years in Frankfurt Germany. I live in Utah, but Colorado will always be home. I've been playing soccer since I was five years old and hope to keep playing for years to come. I'm a Mechanical Engineer, graduated from the University of Colorado. I have a lovely wife and three amazing daughters.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the church and went because my parents told me to go. When I was fourteen years old I gained a testimony of the Prophet Joseph Smith. Thru my high school years I didn't do much to strengthen my testimony. I followed my friends and fell victim to peer pressure. When I was old enough to move out the Church wasn't a part of my life. It took a few years to realize and recognize that my life was missing something. I returned to Church and worked back to full fellowship. I served a two year mission in Brazil. I used soccer as a means to meet people. They were impressed an American could play The Beautiful Game. A few years after returning home I met the girl of my dreams and we were married for time and all eternity in the Denver Temple.

How I live my faith

The Lords promise that Families can be together forever means the world to me. Family Home Evening and nightly family scripture study help us draw closer to one another. Thru service and simple acts of kindness I try to follow the example of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
