Hi I'm Kyle

I am a lifelong Wyoming resident who loves the Lord, my family, the mountains, and my horse. And yes, I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a small town boy who grew up loving a simple way of life. I am married to a beautiful woman and we have four wonderful children. Both my wife and I spent most of our professional career in education. However, we found great pleasure in, and have fond memories of, the little ranch that we ran on the side during the years that our children were at home. I retired after 30 years as a teacher, coach, building administrator, and superintendent to serve a mission with my wife for the church that has been the focal point and driving force in my life. My greatest pleasure comes from the lives that my children lead, the goodness of my grandchildren, and the choice times I am able to spend with my best friend, my wife. I am a firm believer that true happiness can only be found in living Christ-like lives while be surrounded by a loving family and the knowledge that God loves each of us individually.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a Mormon family, so one might think that I had no choice in the matter. The fact is, the gospel of Jesus Christ is all about choices. Regardless of our origins, we all have to come to a personal knowledge of God and His plan for us. I am a Mormon because the doctrines of church answer all my questions about who I am, where I come from, and what my potential is as a child of God. That knowledge gives me purpose and direction in life, it brings me great happiness, and provides guidance in a world full of diverse options, challenges, and obstacles. It also provides amazing comfort in times of trials. The knowledge that my family can be together for eternity is most comforting and is a central doctrine in the church. It is why we have temples, work hard at genealogy, keep accurate family history records, and believe the institution of the family is central to God's plan for us. I have come to know without question that the church is true, that there is a God who knows me personally, that loves me beyond my understanding, and that Jesus Christ, through his life, ministry, and atoning sacrifice made it possible for all of God's children to enjoy happiness in this life and in the eternities that follow. I know God has given us powerful sources for guidance in this world dominated by evil influences that include living apostles and prophets, the scriptures, and the gift of the Holy Ghost. These things I know to be true.

How I live my faith

The greatest power we have is the power of influence. How we use it determines our affect on the world. I try my best to be a positive influence, an influence for good, for unselfish service, and for ethical living. I want to be known as a good neighbor, father, and husband. I have served in the church in a variety of ways, from leading a congregation as a bishop, to serving as a boy scout leader. I have served two missions and we are currently preparing to fulfill a third. My current calling is as an adult religion class instructor. I love the discussions and the learning that takes place as we explore the scriptures and the words of modern prophets of God. Most importantly however, is the example I try to be for my children and grandchildren. Next to my love of the Savior and my Heavenly Father, family is everything.
