Hi I'm Kherissa

I attend Brigham Young University. I have been called to serve a mission in California San Jose, Spanish speaking. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I attend Brigham Young University majoring in Exercise and Wellness. I love watching sports, being active, and participating in wellness challenges such as biathlons. I love music: singing, guitar and listening to all types of genres of music. I have paused my secondary education to serve a mission; I am so excited to be called to the California San Jose Mission, Spanish speaking.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because throughout my life having many experiences in the gospel I have felt the spirit of God in my life. I have felt that true peace, love, and comfort that can only come from growing close to the Savior Jesus Christ and following His words and teachings which can be in the Bible and Book of Mormon. Because of this gospel I know I will live again after this life, I know I have a purpose here on Earth, and I know my family can be together forever. When it comes down to it, I am a Mormon because living how Mormons live, knowing what they know, and feeling how they feel about life, others, and themselves is the only way to find complete happiness in this life and in the life to come.

How I live my faith

The LDS faith is lived internally, within one's self. If you live the gospel principles in your mind and in your heart then outward motions will come automatically. The inward living of the gospel is shown in several ways, and one of them for me is through music. I was called to be the Choir director in y Young Single Adult ward and bring in, teach, and lead a group of young adults in performing musical numbers. The love of God can truly be felt through music and I really enjoy being a part of bringing the feeling of love and comfort to people.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

In order to know anyone you need to foremost talk with them. If you do not have interactions with someone how can you know anyone? When we pray, it is like making a phone call to our Heavenly Father except you will ALWAYS have 5 bars no matter where you are and He will ALWAYS pick up the phone to answer your call. God loves you. You can find out so much about Him and build that relationship with Him by praying to Him then reading the scriptures looking for answers, living how He would have you live (follow the Commandments), and LOOK for evidences of Him in your everyday life. God constantly surrounds us, manifesting Himself through nature, blessings we receive, and even other people in our lives. To begin to know Heavenly Father you don't have to go anywhere, you must simply get on your knees and talk to Him. Show more Show less
