Hi I'm Kayla Manson!

I'm from California! Volleyball is a passion. I'm a missionary in the VRM. I believe in serving others, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I'm 19 and I love life! I'm second to youngest of 5 kids and my family means a whole lot to me. I dig music, blue Powerade, beach bonfires, lake trips, baseball games, sarcasm, and believe a good volleyball pepper is the cure all. I laugh at everything! My mind is a rational one and I question a lot and it sometimes sucks a lot. I did a semester of college before realizing that I didn't really like school all that much. So now I'm dodging school by serving a mission in VA and it has been the best method of procrastination ever. My life is changing and I love it!

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up, my dad would always say, "Have you ever seen a sad person on a jet ski?!" and we always had to say no because it was true! So we got a jet ski. Don't get me wrong- lake trips make me insanely happy, but something that brings me even more peace and joy is Christ and His teachings. This is true happiness. Happiness isn't just found in a good job, a nice car, or in this country. Happiness is found in knowing there is a plan for us. It is found in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I've tried to look for happiness in other things and other people, but it just isn't there like it is in God. Happiness is knowing that the only acceptance you need is that from your Heavenly Father. This also doesn't mean that we won't experience times of sorrow and despair. Sometimes we get thrown off the jet ski, but we always have the opportunity to hop back on. God's plan is a plan of hope. It's a plan full of second chances and bigger wakes. It's a plan that I'm grateful for, because frankly, I suck. The plan He has for us is the best plan and we can trust that it's the right plan. I'm a Mormon because this is where I find genuine joy. I'm a Mormon because I choose to follow truth and this is where I've found it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by acting on my faith. Something I've learned since being on a mission is that faith is an action. I've seen that the best way to grow your faith is to excerise it. Act on what you know and watch what will come from it. Trials happen, but for those who accept the Gospel of Jesus Christ, blessings will come. I believe that, so I'm out here acting on it.
