Hi I'm Mykle (Michael)

I may have a male name, but I was named after 2 wonderful women.

About Me

I am a mother of three who simultaneously completed my Bachelor's degree from BYU, while having and raising my children. I have a degree in History and a Mathematics minor. My husband is the Senior Chief Assistant District Attorney where we live. I happily spend most of my time with my young children at home. I enjoy learning, the outdoors, music and sewing.

Why I am a Mormon

There was a time when I distanced myself from the Gospel of Christ as a confused young adult. During this period of searching for truth, my family went through a traumatic experience where I didn't know if I would ever be able to see my sister again. I wanted to cling to that hope that I had been taught as a child, that "families can be together forever," and so I did. Through some very miraculous events, I was able to see my sister again. I knew that the Savior was aware of her and aware of me at a time when we desperately needed comfort. One of my favorite paintings now is of Christ rescuing the lost black sheep. I was that lost sheep and it truly felt as though He left the 99 and went after the one- I mattered to Him. I realized He is my only true source of comfort, love, and joy in this life and will never leave our side if we seek Him. I know my Savior Jesus Christ appeared to a humble boy Joseph Smith Jr. and through him, he restored His church in its fullness. I know this because I did as Joseph did and followed the council from the Bible in James 1:5, "If any of ye lack wisdom, let him ask of God." I knelt in prayer in conjunction with studying the life of Joseph. My answer came while I was teaching a lesson on his life at church. I had an overwhelming emotion come over me as the Holy Ghost testified to me that Joseph was a true prophet of God and that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was Christ's true church on the earth. I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God as well because I have read it and experimented on its words and felt that confirmation through the Holy Ghost. Because I have had these strong witnesses of Christ and His church, I have never looked back. I know where to find His source of truth- that's why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by making it part of my everyday life. Some of the most important things are praying and communicating with my Father in Heaven throughout the day and reading His words and commandments daily. I have learned that I can pray whenever, wherever, and about whatever and God listens and cares- even for the very small things in my life. Attending church every week where I can learn of the Savior and help strengthen others is essential as well. I participate in my local church ward by serving as the youth Activity Days leader. I plan activities each month that help 8-11 year old girls develop their own testimony of Christ's gospel. I also visit four women in our congregation each month and deliver a spiritual message as well as serve them and build friendships.
