Hi I'm Kayla

I am a Division 1 collegiate athlete. I am a sewer, baker, designer, and reader. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a twenty-two year old college student. I currently play volleyball at my university while pursuing a bachelors degree. I love being active inside and outside. The mountains are my favorite place to be, I love camping. I also love to bake and cook--mostly desserts! I love to read all genres and kinds of books. I love to sew and make a lot of clothes for myself, and do a lot of little sewing repairs for others. I could get lost in a fabric store, it's so inspiring to think of all the creative things you can do with fabric. I love rain and overcast days, and I'm happiest when I'm around my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that God lives and loves me, and my faith is the best way I know how to show Him that I love him. There are many, many things I do not know but one thing that I have never doubted is that God exists. And because He exists, we must follow Him. I have felt His love for me through experiences, other people, and through the Spirit of God. There are times that are not easy, and many people close to me have left this life, but because I know that God lives, I know that my loved ones do as well and that I will see them again. All I have seen come from my faith is good and holy and positive and right. My faith gives me direction and grounds me in a time and world where peace is generally fleeting, and joy the pursuit of a lifetime. The restored gospel of Jesus Christ give me peace and joy in the midst of trials, and I know that God live and loves me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending all of my meetings regularly and actively participating in my calling and at church. I try to go to all devotionals and take notes in order to improve my life. I am blessed to live near a temple which I visit several times in a week. Sometimes I just sit outside near the temple and read or ponder. Other times, I go inside to perform ordinances on behalf of others. Either way, I can always feel peace and happiness emanating from the building and it's impossible not to feel when I am near. I study my scriptures daily and say my prayers because those things give me comfort and direction at a time in my life that is crazy.
