Hi I'm Jacob Mikesell

I grew up a performer. For the last 6 years, I have been actively cast in our community and school theaters. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Well to start off, I love art in every way. I have been in many plays--most of which are musicals. I love to sing and dance, draw, paint--everything. Hamlet is by far my favorite work so far. I love Shakespeare. I'm not too good at sports; consequently, I don't get into many. I'm a proficient swimmer and I love the water. I use to play soccer, basketball, and baseball as a kid, and I played rugby as a freshman in high school. I enjoy science and biology so so much. I have been trained in the medical field as a result. CNA and lifeguard are a few of the jobs I've had. I recently finished my Eagle Scout requirements, earned my Duty to God, and got my mission call!! I am currently serving in the England Leeds Mission.

Why I am a Mormon

Well I was born into the LDS church. I learned the all the stories and knew all the answers, but it never really clicked. For some reason, I just didn't feel the change. Eventually it came to a point in my life where I dropped into a depth deeper than rock bottom. Some events I'm not proud of occurred--they aren't events I talk about.. But out of it, I realized many things--one specifically: I wasn't alone in my pain. I had Jesus who knew my pain, and the Holy Ghost to comfort, guide, and help me through everything. Since then, everything has gotten better for me, and I make it a point of helping anyone through their afflictions. I'm not letting anyone feel what I did. Now I have my mission call, and I get to share that amazing knowledge I gained with other people. I'm so grateful for all of this, especially this gospel and it's effect on my life.

How I live my faith

I was a Youth Family History Consultant which means I helped people with genealogy needs. I helped scouts pass off requirements for the Swimming merit badge. I did service projects with scout, church, and community organizations. One of my fondest memories is filling sand bags to protect houses for our river overflowing. As of now, I'm serving as a full-time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in England.
