Hi I'm Tyler Jones

I live in a small town in Iowa. I work in bookstore. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm from a family of five. I have two siblings, one younger brother, and one younger sister. My younger brother has autism. My relationship with him is one the aspects of my life that has most shaped my character. I think he has made me more aware of the unique circumstances and needs of every individual. Also, he helped me be able to love people without strings attached. The rest of my family is great too! I love being outdoors. My interest in various outdoor activities was fostered by my involvement in the Boy Scouts of America. After moving on from scouts, I still enjoy camping, fishing, shooting, and hiking. I love being able to work with and direct other people. In high school, I was the vice president of my FFA Chapter, which was a great opportunity for me to learn how to work with other people (the key is patience and persistence). My favorite book is 1984. Read it! It is awesome! That's me!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that the gospel taught in the Mormon church is true. I have a deep love and testimony of Jesus Christ. As I study and pray for answers to the questions and concerns I have about this church, I consistently gain understanding and a strengthened testimony of the Jesus Christ. A verse found in the Book of Mormon (check here to learn about the Book of Mormon: http://www.mormon.org/beliefs/book-of-mormon) says, "Adam fell that men might be; and men are, that they might have joy." This helps me know that we exist to be happy, and the Mormon Church helps me do that.

How I live my faith

I am living my faith by doing all of the little things that I know bring me closer to my Savior, Jesus Christ. I say prayers every day and read the scriptures every day. By doing this, I am able to feel the influence of Christ in my life. It is also very important to me that I live the standards set forth in the For the Strength of the Youth pamphlet: https://www.lds.org/youth/for-the-strength-of-youth?lang=eng I know that when I do these things, I am way happier!
