Hi I'm Sammy Jo

I grew up in Stanley, Idaho. I love to read and hike. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love being active. I like to hike, ride my bike, and be outdoors. In high school I played volleyball and did hurdles in Track. I also enjoy doing Taekwondo. When I am not outside doing something I love to read and do crafts.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a member in the LDS church. I remember when I was very young and first started hearing about other church's. I started to wonder if the church I was in was really the right church, or maybe they were all right and it didn't matter which church you went to. One night I knelt down and prayed to know if the Church of Latter Day Saints was the true church. I felt such a warm and peaceful feeling. I knew that this was the true church. Every since then I have got confirmation as I read the Book of Mormon or when I go to church. My testimony continued to grow since that day that I prayed to God to know if this was the true church. Now I can say that I know this church is true, I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God, and that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. I know that Thomas S. Monson is a living prophet.

How I live my faith

My home branch is very small. Because there wasn't very many of us we all had plenty of opportunities to serve. My brothers and I would help set up the chairs and pass out the hymns books and then put them all away when we were done. When I was older I was called to help teach the Young Women. It was definitely a learning experience for me. It was hard at first to teach others but in the end it was very rewarding and I grew because of it.
