Hi I'm Dallin

I grew up in Utah. I enjoy skiing and motorbiking. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have lived in Utah for most of my life, and have been influenced greatly by this great state. I have loved to hike through the mountains with my dad and with scouts since I was at least eight years old. I like to spend most of my time outdoors, as there is plenty of things to do throughout the state. I enjoy skiing, motor boating, kayaking, and mountain biking. I have begun to attend the University of Utah, but I am putting my education on hold to serve a mission.

Why I am a Mormon

There are some people who think being raised in the church as an infant and into adulthood brainwashes us and doesn't allow those that have lived this way to know for themselves what they believe in. This is simply not true. I have grown in a family that has always attended church and have taught the values and principles of the gospel. But I myself have not always had a testimony of the things that I have been taught. I have gone through many trails that were brought upon myself because I went to church, but I did not study the gospel that was taught. Every single person has to gain a testimony of their own and has to choose for themselves what is right and what is wrong. I have been humbled throughout my life, and after deciding for myself to believe and study the teachings of the church, I have gained a testimony of the truth that it holds. I am a Mormon because I have chosen to be. No one else has made the choice for me. And I have been blessed more than I could have ever possibly imagined. I am a Mormon because the teachings of the church bring eternal happiness that can be reached through nothing else.

How I live my faith

One of the most influential ways that I have been able to live my faith is through the boys scouts of America. I have been part of the scouting program ever since I turned eight. The standards for scouting go hand in hand with the church. I have grown up volunteering for the food bank, our local children's justice center, and many other organizations. I have been able to serve my neighbors in all manner of labor. I have learned that there is nothing more rewarding than service. Not just because of the feelings of accomplishment or happiness, but because while I am serving others can see me as an example for them. Many do not realize, but there are always people who are watching us closely and are influenced by our actions. By setting a good example, others are encouraged to do the same. And when lucky enough, some people ask me why I do what I do. And then I get to share my testimony with them, and introduce them to the teachings of the church. I now have the greatest opportunity and blessing of my life so far to serve as a full-time missionary. I live my faith by sharing it, and more importantly living it as an example for my friends and family whom I dearly love. This church has brought more happiness to my life than anything else in the world, and I know that I have a Father in Heaven who loves me more than I can ever comprehend.
