Hi I'm Aza

I am a college freshman, a poet, an amateur sushi chef, and I'm a mormon!

About Me

I'm from New Jersey, right outside NYC, and love learning about different cultures! I'm studying elementary ed and international development and hope to go into international education. My dream is to help others help themselves. I'm also passionate about poetry, the shore, indian food, my subtly hilarious family, and this church, which I'll soon be serving a full-time mission for!

Why I am a Mormon

Though I was born into it, each time my understanding of the atonement grows I can further feel the truth of this church. Christ suffered for everything for everyone so that He could comfort us, and He does. And even when we distance ourselves, even when I felt myself drifting away from Him, I never felt His love leave. We believe that God still communicates with us today, and I'm so grateful that I can rely on His wisdom and perspective. It's been such a comfort knowing that there is someone only a prayer away and that He cares, that He has cried for us, that he understands. I don't want to face life without Him.

How I live my faith

I try to be kind and gentle and brave enough to face the heartbreak of this world. I know that as Christ wants us to follow his example, he wants us to endure what we've been given in this life. But I also know that He would never leave us alone in this, that we can always rely on His strength and love. I try to be open hearted about what God wants me to accomplish and love others as much as possible while I'm here.
