Hi I'm Daniel

I grew up all around the Western States. I hosted a blood drive for 50 people and I am an AP Scholar. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

For the most part of my life I moved around the Western United States due to my dads job, he's an airplane mechanic, and I loved it. Most people say that sounds a little weird but it gave me the opportunity to see new places and travel around even if it was limited. One of my favorite things to do is travel and especially go hiking in the areas I travel. When I was a Boy Scout I got the opportunity to go to Philmont, one of the largest Boy Scout ranches. There we went on a 80 mile hike through the mountains of New Mexico and to this day that was some of the most fun I've had. I absolutely loved it and I learned so much from that experience like don't trust the animals there because they will and do eat all your food. In high school I was primarily enrolled in Advanced Placement classes and by the end of my high school career I was an Distinguished AP Scholar. I also did some sports like basketball and weightlifting although that didn't go anywhere due to my lack of skill and injuries. I love learning especially if it's history. I consider myself a history buff and the coolest thing I've seen concerning history is an original newspaper from when Abraham Lincoln got shot, I geeked out. In short I'm pretty much a nerd but I love it.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I have received an answer for myself that fhis church is true. There is a challenge in the Book of Mormon to read and pray about it to know for yourself if it is true or not and I took this challenge. The answer didn't come as miraculous as Old Testament prophets or the latter day prophet Jospeh Smith but nevertheless I received a confirmation that the Book of Mormon was true. Since I know the Book of Mormon is true I also know that means Jospeh Smith was a true prophet of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and the church he set up is the same church Christ established in his mortal ministry. I'm also a Mormon because I have never been happier than when I have been dedicated to going to this church. Many years ago I played around and became addicted to prescription drugs, primarily heavy duty painkillers. I loved the feeling of getting high and I wanted more so as years went by I got my hands on stronger pain killers and different drugs to experiment. They made me very happy and I thought for the longest time that's where my happiness laid, the next pill bottle. However one night I had quite the scare. I recently had an operation and as a result they gave me some very heavy duty painkillers. My friend knew of my addiction and she had me promise her to not take more than I needed. I broke that promise and took 4 more pills than I needed. I woke up the next morning in pain and tears. That morning I talked to my friend and told her what I had done and the first thing she has said was "How dare you. I did the research, you could of overdosed easily , what if I woke up the next morning and found out my best friend was dead because of his action." That hit me hard and I knew I needed to change. I went to my parents and I started going more regularly to church. It took me awhile but I eventually made it a goal to try my best to be the best person I could be. That involved following Jesus Christ and since then I have never been at so much peace in my life

How I live my faith

I live my faith in multiple ways. At the moment I am a missionary serving in the Roseville California mission and I am loving it. I love it because every day I have the opportunity to study in detail the scriptures and the words of God. My companion and I do our best to serve the people in the area we are assigned whether it be through service or inviting others to find peace in Jesus Christ. I also live my faith by being a faithful and loyal son to some amazing parents. I try my best to make them proud and follow their example which emulates Christ. Serving provides me the most happiness though, especially for strangers. I strongly believe Christ came here to not only fulfill the words of the prophets but to serve as well. I do my best to serve and although there are times where I don't want to or I'm grouchy I try my best to get up and do it anyway because I know that will bring me the most happiness.
