Hi I'm Kaelynn

I was raised in a small farming community with three older brothers and a little sister. I'm a missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the fourth child of five siblings and the oldest daughter. I love to play tennis, swim and hike. I've been a lifeguard, a tutor a Quality Assurance, an honor student and a mentor. I love the arts; music, painting, wood burning and stained glass are my passions. I plan to go to college after my LDS mission in the Missouri Independence Mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints. My father was a convert to the church and joined when he met and started dating my mother. They were married and sealed and have raised myself and my siblings in the church, and even though that is the start of my faith, that is not why I'm a Mormon. I am a Mormon because I truly believe in the church. They encourage you to find out what you believe, they encourage you to discover and search and to ask our Heavenly Father for confirmation. I am a Mormon because I have searched and questioned and wondered for years whether this was really true. I believe with all my heart that this church provides answers, calms fears, and heals hearts. There aren't perfect people in the church, we are all struggling sinners, but the goal is a common one: to return to our Father in Heaven. I believe in new beginnings, fresh starts. I believe in the Atonement, that all men can be forgiven and return to Heavenly Father. I believe in family's forever, I don't want to be separated from any of my loved ones at "death do us part" and I believe that through this church families can be together forever. This is a gospel centered around the family and staying together. I believe our Savior Jesus Christ is my literal brother and friend, I believe he lives. I know bad things happen to good people, I believe in trials and struggles and I believe in free will and I know that when trials happen we can always turn to our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ for help. I know we are strengthened in adversity and there is always a way back to them. I am a Mormon, not because I believe perfectly or act perfectly, but because I believe through the atonement of Jesus Christ I can become perfect through my actions and obedience; because of my choices, I can become perfect in Him.

How I live my faith

I love to read the scriptures. To me, they become a personal account of someone or a group of people who really lived. They are journal entries and I see so many lessons and details in them. They make me wonder and question and I am a person who always asks "why?". Studying the scriptures always provides answers for me. I love to help people, I'm not always good at it, but I like to try, whether its something like donating blood or as simple as striking up a conversation to get a smile. I love it. I live my faith, not by pretending I'm perfect or holy because I know I am far, far from it. I live my faith by simply trying and not judging. I know I am not a perfect person and have a lot of work to do, but if I can make someone feel good or happy or even be able to listen and really understand them, then I am living my faith by being what the Savior is- a sibling, a friend and a companion.
