Hi I'm Sheldon

I grew up in Monticello Utah. I love sports, almost all kinds. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My hobbies are Basketball, Motorcycle riding, and ping pong. I'm not great at them all but I enjoy doing them. I like being outdoors, but i'm not a hunter or fisher, just being in the fresh air. I am planning on going to college in the next 2 years. I plan to go to Utah State University. I am an Eagle Scout, I enjoy looking for ways i can serve others. I love going skiing during the winter. I have Mowed lawns for a job during the summers.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have felt the truth in this gospel. I have a testimony of this gospel. I love this gospel very much. This gospel teaches of Christ and his eternal plan for us to come back and live with him. I know this gospel is true. I know that Christ died for us to have the opportunity to live with him again. I know the prophet gets revelation from Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father today. I know that if we follow his teachings we will know of the things which we should do. I know that by reading the book of Mormon we can know of things that have happened and that we can be prepared for things to come.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by taking different classes to learn more about Christ and what he has done for us. By taking classes I mean by going to church each Sunday to learn for myself of the importance that Christ was and what he expects for us. I also attend a class called seminary, for 1 hour a day Monday through Friday I attend this class on my own time to hear of the scriptures and what they teach us today. I also do my best to serve others and show my support to them. I attend Mutual each Wednesday. Mutual is where the youth gather for fun activities, but also meaningful activities. With mutual we are able to talk with other members of our faith and get the opportunity to learn more about them. Mutual is a very casual laid back setting and it is a youth based organization.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

This question can be kind of confusing sometimes. Women who are members of the church aren't required to serve missions. But they do have the option to serve missions. However, Thomas S. Monson said, "Every worthy able young man should prepare to serve a mission. I know people who have not served missions, they are still great people. The important thing to remember is that every worthy young man and young women are able to choose to serve or not. Also you have the option to serve missions with your husband or wife.
