Hi I'm Brooke

I'm currently serving in the Washington D.C North mission. I'm from Idaho. I like guacamole. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am the second oldest of four girls.I was born and raised in Idaho, but I have never actually stepped foot on a potato farm. I love sports and I grew up playing soccer and basketball. I have an incurable case of wanderlust, traveling and meeting/ learning about other cultures. I am a missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, attempting to learn Spanish and not get completely lost in this new foreign place I call home!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church and for the most part, was pretty active all growing up. I would sit through church and attend church classes at school, but never actually pay attention. My senior year of high school was definitely a trial in my life. Everything in my life just seemed to turn upside-down. I started skipping church and just not caring. I thought that I could get through my trials alone and be fine. I was wrong. I was lonely, confused, and my testimony was shrinking. I was losing the light of the gospel in my life. A really good friend of mine started preparing for a mission, and her example really sparked something. Step by step I was able to turn my life back around through the atonement. I felt Gods love and I knew I was not alone ever. I know that this church is the true church. I know that there is one God who is loving and wants us to return back to him. He sent his only begotten son who died for us so that we can repent of our sins and be made clean. I know that God has placed living prophets on the earth today to speak as a mouthpiece of God. I am so thankful for the light that the gospel has brought in my life and I know that by living the word of God we can return to him.

How I live my faith

Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has been the biggest blessing in my life. I have learned to love those around me by serving both members of the church and also the community. I have had the opportunity to live with roommates not of our faith, and through example, I have been able to help them in their times of need. I have been able to help plan events for the church and become closer to the leaders and members. Through these experiences, I have learned that the members are so loving and accepting and will always accept you with open arms. The teachings of the church have influenced my life so much. I would not be the person I am today without it.
