Hi I'm Cydne

I am an Advertising student. Travel enthusiast. People lover. Filmmaker. Lover of chocolate and anything sweet. and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada and that is home for me. I am 20 years-old and serving as a missionary in the Missouri Independence Mission! Before my mission, I had the opportunity to begin studying Advertising in college and will continue with that when returning home. I love documenting my life through photos and videos. There is beauty all around us, I love capturing that and taking it in.

Why I am a Mormon

God is real and He is involved in the smallest details of our lives. As I look back on the hardest times of my life, I can really see that He was preparing me for the best times in my life, so that I could really see how beautiful these parts in my life really are. If you don't experience grief and tribulation, there is no way for you to really see how amazing the good times in life are. As a part of my mission, I have gotten the opportunity to serve in the Historic Liberty Jail, one of the church history sites, where my testimony of trials has been strengthened so much. I love the scripture in Doctrine and Covenants that says, "all these things shall give thee experience, and shall be for thy good". I know that all the things that we go through in this life are part of helping us to become who our Heavenly Father wants us to become. I love looking for the small ways in which my Father in Heaven blesses me and those around me each day. He loves and cares for EACH and EVERY one of us and blesses us in small and simple ways every day. The perspective that I have on life now is my most prized possession. I love the happiness it gives me and it makes me want to smile 24/7.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying at all times to be an instrument in His hands. I strive to be living my life in a way in which I can help others to see the happiness that the restored gospel can bring to our lives. God is so good and He wants happiness for us all. By living this gospel, we get to experience that happiness. I attend church every week with my roommates, with my family, or sometimes by myself! I love feeling uplifted after the meetings I attend. Almost always, a speaker or teacher says something that I feel was meant just for me: something that helps me with what I am going through at that time. Jesus Christ sacrificed so much for us in order for us to return to Him after this life. I am so grateful for that and have decided to take a break from my education to serve Him for 18 months in order to share that happiness with others. Although this is going to be a hard sacrifice for me and my loved ones, I am so excited for it. This gospel is something that is so important to me and it is just as important to me that everyone has the opportunity to hear about it and experience this happiness for themselves.

What do Mormons believe about family?

Mormons believe that families are eternal and that we can live together as a family unit after this life. Mormons believe that the relationships we have here on earth with our family members are so important, many activities in the church are centered around strengthening these relationships.
