Hi I'm Manu Laneira Kinikini

I was born and raised in Utah. I am half Samoan and half Tongan. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am number 4 of 7 children. My mom is full Samoan and my dad is full Tongan. I love to play sports, particularly basketball and volleyball. Music has always been a huge part of my life and I play the piano, guitar, trumpet, and saxophone. I enjoy traveling especially to Australia to visit my moms side of the family. To me, there is no greater pleasure than just talking, laughing, and singing with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the beliefs it has gives me hope. I have never felt so right about it's teachings and I have come to find that it is the most stable and unchanging thing. To me that testifies of it's truthfulness. It's teachings uplift me and help me strive to become better. It helps me to understand certain things and answers all of my questions. It allows me to progress.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by helping others. I have been privileged enough to serve in many different service positions. I served as a student body officer in middle school and high school, and I really enjoyed my time being there. I was able to come across and visit with many different kids who came from such diverse cultures and backgrounds, and it was interesting to see how each person contributed to the student body as a whole. I also had the opportunity of serving as a special needs counselor. Being able to work with such beautiful and precious souls helped me to better understand this work and I feel I was able to develop Christlike attributes.
