Hi I'm Randy

I grew up in Montana. I love agriculture and farming. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I just had my eagle scout court of honor last Sunday and have been a scout since cub scouts. I love spending time in the outdoors. Some of my favorite hobbies include horseback riding, hiking camping, fishing, and hunting. I also love to draw and paint, shoot my bow, and play the tuba. I am currently preparing to serve a mission in Bulgaria. For the past 4 years I have had a job working on a large ranch in my home town, which has lead me to one day want to become a high school agriculture teacher, just like my dad is. I have been involved in 4-H and FFA since I was little.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the LDS church. However like everybody eventual I had to stop relying on the testimony and beliefs of my parents and others who surrounded me. As I began to have doubts, questions began be answered, and things where made clear. I can remember a few specific nights when I received very clear answers and I could feel the Saviors love for me. I am eternally grateful for the blessings in my life, and I am excited to be able to find my own reasons to belonging to his church and going on a mission.

How I live my faith

In addition to church attendance, I love reading from the bible and Book of Mormon and learning more about the scriptures. I have also began going out with the missionaries to help teach people investigating the church on occasion as well.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Randy
Not at all! That would be talking away our agency and freedom to choose. Everybody has the choice. It is definitely encouraged, and for good reason. When we serve god to the best of our abilities, not only are we blessed, but we grow. A missionary that leaves does not come back the same person. They come back a more spiritual, humble, and service oriented individual. A mission helps prepare for family life and helps keep a persons focus on God and the savior years after their return. Missionaries don't go out to boost church membership. They leave to change lives, and in the process, change their own. No a mission is not required. It is simply encouraged, and for good reason.
