Hi I'm Kristen Rust

I am a runner. I am a hiker. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I just finished up my first Semester of College and am off to serve in the Lisbon Portugal mission, on July 22, 2015. During my free time I love to write, run, hike, play the violin, attempt to play the piano, and trying new things.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a Mormon Family yet around the age of 10 I began to doubt the Mormon religion, “was God there and if he was, was this his church.” I prayed for many days wanting, hoping, that I would receive an answer. During this time I was introduced to this passage of scripture that reads, “But, behold, I say unto you, that you must study it out in your mind; then you must ask me if it be right, and if it is right I will cause that your bosom shall burn within you; therefore, you shall feel that is right.” (Doctrine and Covenants 9:8) I felt strongly that this was what I needed to do. I studied it out in my mind, whether this was God’s church and then prayed. I knew from the spirt that I felt that this was of God. I knew then as I know now that The Book of Mormon is true and that if that was true that God the Father and his Son Jesus Christ did appear to Joseph Smith. I am a Mormon because I know that the words The Book of Mormon contain are true!

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by serving all of the people around me. I have served in my ward as I have been in charge of music, serves activities, and visiting teaching. I also participate in finding names of ancestors, to take their names to the temple. I do this so that those who died without the knowledge of this gospel can receive ordinances (things that are an outward expression of an inward commitment ex. Baptism.)
