Hi I'm Cameron Shaw

I grew up in the church in Utah, and I am proud to be a Mormon

About Me

I am a single guy who is about to go on a mission to Argentina. I play the string bass and love classical music as well as newer popular music today. I love reading books like science fiction and fantasy. I love studying the history of america, and I love Science and Math. When i go to college, I want to become an orthopedic surgeons (deals with muscles and bones). I enjoy the outdoors, Pokemon, working on cars and watching action packed movies! Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit all the way!!!!! I love being a member of The church of Jesus Christ of latter-day saints because it brings me such joy.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church. I have always been a Mormon, but I still had to decide whether or not I was going to follow Jesus Christ or not. I had to know for myself whether or not this church was true, and I can say without a doubt that I know that this church is TRUE!!! I did not have a burning in the bosom or an angel appear to me, but my testimony came to me a little at a time over a long period of time. If ever I have doubts and pray to know if something is true Heavenly Fathers reminds me that I already know that it is true, and I just have to remember it. I know The Book of Mormon is true. I didn't read it when I was younger, but I read it when I started Seminary and then I prayed to know if it was true and received my confirmation. I look at being a Mormon not as a restriction but a way to freedom. We are made free through the Atonement. Being a Mormon is a way of life. It is not something we do one day and not the next. It is how we get back to our Heavenly Father. It is a joy that i want to share with others on my mission.

How I live my faith

I teach all the guys in our singles ward. I was called as a teacher to teach them on sunday. I get a little nervous talking in front of a whole bunch of guys who know so much more than me, even though I am a very talkative guy, but I really enjoy the spirit that I feel when they teach me. I am also a home teacher and go around and share a message with the people I am assigned to. It becomes much more than an assignment; you grow to love the people you teach and become very good friends with them. I appreciate the example that they show to me each and everyday. I love reading my scriptures! They give me such peace when I read them. I find answers to my questions every time, and I love praying to my Heavenly Father; he hears and answers all of my prayers. :) I t may not always be in my timetable or in my way, but I KNOW that he does what he does because he knows best and LOVES me!!!!!
