Hi I'm Hunter Daines

I was raised in Herndon, Virginia. I'm a student at BYU-Idaho. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love singing. I am a Bass II in choir. I went to BYU-Idaho for one semester before serving a mission. I was part of the University Choir and Men's Choir there, as well as the Barbershop Quartet program. I love linguistics and studying many languages, preferrably ancient and classical languages. I love learning about other cultures and the history behind them. I love incorporating all my interests in with each other, such as studying the history of language, music, and cultures, and how humans have communicated in the past compared to now. Regarding my mission, as previously mentioned, I have been called to serve in the Arizona Gilbert Mission, English speaking. I report on June 10, 2015.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe the Book of Mormon to be the Word of God and a second testiment of Jesus Christ alongside the Bible. I believe this church to have the Restored Gospel of Christ, and the restored priesthood. I believe Joseph Smith to have been a true prophet of God and Thomas S. Monson to be His living prophet today.

How I live my faith

For many years, my dad and I have gone to members' homes to teach and help serve them in any personal matters for the family. I have able to see the Gospel bless their lives through the years, particularly one formerly inactive family who have recently returned to church from several years of not doing so. In Winter 2012, just after Hurricane Sandy, when the church organized an effort to help out those who were suffering in New York from the aftermath, I was happy to participate up in the Rockaways area of New York.
